PJ LORENZO is an audio engineer at Select
Sound and an instructor for the Recording Technologies Program. He is
also a Recording Technologies Alumnus (1985-1987) and subsequent to
completing his training, he opened Fruit-Loop Recording Studios. After
5 years of running his studio, he was hired at Select Sound Studios as
studio technician. He eventually became first engineer and an
instructor. PJ Lorenzo has been playing guitar in various Progressive
Rock and Top 40/Rock bands in the Buffalo, NY area and for four
consecutive years the Buffalo Music Awards Society nominated him for
best Pop Rock guitarist. In 2008 he completed his latest solo release,

MATT YOUNG is a member of the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame (class of '93), Matt is a respected veteran of the Western New York music community. He made a name for himself over the years in bands such as Strider, The Trolls, and The Scott Celani Band. He is a graduate of SUNY Buffalo with and BFA degree and a minor degree in Teacher Education. He is also a production and imaging director for Entercom Radio's Buffalo cluster including Star 102.5, WBEN, Kiss 98.5 and WGR.
JASON PAGANO(Recording Technologies
alumnus 2003-2004) is the house engineer and a recording technologies
instructor. After completing the recording classes at Select Sound,
Jay interned until he was hired as a part-time assistant engineer in
2005. Jason became a full-time engineer in 2008 and has worked with
clients such as Mark Wood and Bridgid Bibbons (Trans Syberian
Orchestra), Jerry Livingston, Vintage, Alicia Mencel (meditation
speaker) and on remote jobs such as Joyryde, Hey You, Tony Grisanti
Band, and numerous school concerts. He has played the drums for 23
years and is the studio drum tech. Out of the studio, don't be
surprised to see Jay walking around HSBC arena during Lacrosse season.
His seasonal job is working as an off field official for your local
Buffalo Bandits. Stop him and say hello!
DICK BAUERLE is co-founder of Select Sound and one of the developers of the Recording Technologies program. Dick is a producer, guitarist, vocalist and instructor and has been performing professionally since 1966. He has been involved in many recording projects that have been released nationally, such as Gloria Loring's hit "Friends and Lovers", not to mention a track on the movie soundtrack from Mel Brooks "Spaceballs", that he wrote and produced. Dick has had a Jazz CD released internationally, that stayed on the Jazz Charts in the Top 20 position for several weeks. Dick has played in numerous local bands and was inducted into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame in 1986 and again in 2002 as a member of the band Joyryde.
JASON "JAY" MAGER is the latest addition to the Select Sound family of instructors. Jay is a filmmaker and an alumnus of the Recording Technologies Program (2005 - 2006) as well as the Principles of Video Production (2006). As an independent filmmaker, Jay has had experience with various aspects of film production and has served as a screenwriter, producer, director, assistant director, editor and actor. He has written & directed several short films including “The Pigman” (2008) which has screened at several local and regional film festivals. Jay also recently finished filming his first feature film, Born To Die which is currently in post-production for a 2010 release. His experience has also included work on TV commercials, corporate projects & music videos.
